Inquiring minds want to know…. What happens to any left over toys or clothing after all the families have received their gifts?

Well the Project Joy Committee distributes the left over toys to any families that did not make the deadline and allow them to come through and pick out a couple of items. Also if a community family has had a recent loss such as the loss of a job, fire, or other circumstances than the committee allows those families to come to the store.

After we have served every possible family identified to the Project Joy committee, the volunteers and committee members may purchase left over toys. The money from toys purchases is put into the funds for the next years Project Joy Store. Lastly,  the Project Joy Committee members sort through the remaining toys and donate the remaining items to children who are in foster care, the Brookings Boy's and Girls Club, the Great After School Place, and the Women's Shelter.
